Please read these terms carefully before booking or using our appliance repair services.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PRT Appliance website at prtappliance.ca ("Site") and the appliance repair services provided by PRT Appliance ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing our Site or booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Site or services.
PRT Appliance provides residential and commercial appliance repair and maintenance services in the Greater Toronto Area. Services include diagnostic assessment, parts replacement, and repair of major household appliances including refrigerators, stoves, ovens, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and microwaves.
We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion, including in situations where repairs are deemed unsafe, cost-prohibitive, or outside our service area.
Appointments may be booked by phone at (416) 524-2633 or through our website contact form. Bookings are confirmed when you receive verbal or written confirmation from a PRT Appliance representative. Time slots are estimates — while we strive for punctuality, exact arrival times cannot be guaranteed.
We request a minimum of 4 hours' notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations (under 4 hours notice) or no-shows may be subject to a service call fee. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to technician availability, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
A responsible adult (18 years or older) must be present throughout the service appointment to provide access, receive the diagnosis, approve the repair quote, and authorize commencement of work. Work will not begin without explicit verbal or written authorization from the customer or their authorized representative.
Diagnostic assessments are provided at a standard service call fee. This fee is waived when the customer proceeds with the recommended repair. All repair costs (labour and parts) are communicated in writing or verbally before work begins. The customer must approve the estimate before any repair proceeds.
Final invoiced amounts may vary from the estimate if additional faults are discovered during repair that require additional parts or labour, or if original faults cannot be fully diagnosed until disassembly. Any material changes to the approved estimate will be communicated to and approved by the customer before proceeding.
Payment is due upon completion of service. We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Interac debit, and e-Transfer. We do not offer credit terms or deferred payment arrangements unless separately agreed in writing. For parts ordered in advance at the customer's request, a deposit may be required.
Invoices not paid at time of service are subject to a 1.5% monthly interest charge (18% annually) on outstanding balances after 30 days. PRT Appliance reserves the right to pursue collection of unpaid amounts through legal means.
All repair labour is warranted for 90 days from the date of service. If the same fault recurs within 90 days due to our workmanship, we will return and correct the issue at no charge.
Manufacturer-supplied parts carry the manufacturer's warranty, typically 6–12 months depending on the part and brand. Warranty claims on parts are subject to manufacturer policies. PRT Appliance will assist in facilitating parts warranty claims where applicable.
Warranties are void in cases of:
PRT Appliance's liability for any claim arising from our services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for: indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; loss of food or perishable contents; pre-existing damage to appliances or property; or damages caused by the appliance or its failure prior to our service call.
Our technicians exercise reasonable care when working in your home. Any property damage caused directly by our negligence will be addressed through our commercial liability insurance. Customers are advised to remove fragile or valuable items from the immediate work area before technician arrival.
